Samuel Ricky Main is here!

we are sooooo thrilled to have our baby boy here! and we are typical proud new parents and think he is just the cutest. :)

Name: Samuel Ricky Main.
The first name is Stuart's grandpa on the Main side - this name wasn't even on our short-list of names but when he came out, Stuart said the first thing he thought was that he looked just like grandpa Sam so we knew that he had to be the fourth generation Samuel Main
After we picked the first name, we wanted the second name to be something from Tammy's family and we didn't even have to really discuss, we just said "Samuel Ricky" Definitely one proud grandpa to have a name-sake.
Born (date/time): Jan 23rd at 2:14am (shares a birthday with his great-grandpa Breuer!!)
Birth: not so good - might be an only child! haha
Weight: 8lbs 0oz
Height: 19 inches
I've been doing pics & emails for the last hour, so I'm going to cheat and see if this link works instead of posting pics right now - I think you have to copy and paste it into your web browser

Maybe it's the stars...

well, Jan 20th...still no baby. Maybe the baby was supposed to be an Aquarius and not a Capricorn so now that the star signs have changed today, baby will come. okay, I know it's silly...but come on baby, what else are you waiting for?!! :)

Here's what the horoscope says our child will be like. ha, does this not sound like a Tammy & Stuart child or what??! (or at least a mini-Stuart, my worst fears, haha)

About the Aquarius Child

A Different Drummer

"Marching to the beat of his own drummer" describes your Aquarius child to a T. This little one is offbeat to the core and will surprise you repeatedly with his inventiveness and originality.

Aquarius children are quite social and tend to have lots of friends, and the more widely diverse their play buddies' backgrounds and cultures, the better.

Aquarius children are attracted to diversity and new experiences. Your little Aquarius might like unusual foods that other kids won't even try -- think hot peppers, strong cheeses, raw oysters, and the like -- or he might spend hours in his room, inventing something technical, functional, and all-around incredible.

Pursuing their own freedom and individuality is among their primary needs, so as the parent of an Aquarius child, you should give him plenty of space and autonomy. If they aren't allowed to express themselves as they see fit, Aquarius children can become rebellious or, alternatively, stubborn and quietly depressed.

Let your child dress himself as early as he can, and give him plenty of books, art supplies, and other tools to foster his unique creativity. Aquarius children tend to be quite intelligent. They're naturally progressive in their thinking and their perspective on the world, so they might become excellent problem solvers.

Your Aquarius child may surprise you with his interests and life choices, but if you can stay open to the ways his mind works, you're likely to find he's a genius in his own right. These children just need time to find the best way of expressing their brilliance.

Daily Horoscope

Both Stuart & Tammy are Libra's and here is today's horoscope...I found it humorous given our situation.

"...you've been playing catch up. Now it's time to switch your focus into the future, especially with respect to your home and family. Time to do a 180"

yep, all caught up on my rest and now time to have this baby already!! if only the baby would cooperate :)

Dr's visit

had my dr's visit today....everything is looking well and baby is happy. Every week when I go, they seem so optimistic that baby is close but after a month of hearing this, I have learned this is a "nice-ity" and doesn't really mean anything!

They have booked me for an ultrasound on Jan 22nd - that puts me at 41 weeks and at that point they will evaluate the health of the baby & amount of amniotic fluid to decide if they can leave baby in or should take any action. I go to a maternity clinic that really likes to do things naturally so they will not induce unless they really need to for the sake of the baby which I am very happy about. I really prefer to NOT be induced, especially when an epidural is not an option for me (due to allergies). I'm not in a rush to have the baby, but I am pretty uncomfortable and am ready to move on and get this waiting game over! so hopefully I don't make it to the ultrasound...

I think my poor monster is confused: "mom, you have spent 8 months trying to keep me inside ...why all the sudden a rush to have me out??" ironic isn't it??

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!! we are anxiously awaiting monster main's arrival but I did get a big high-five at midnight from dad when we made it to the January mark and he is now safe on the birthstone. haha! (for those that don't know, Stuart bought me a family ring for my 30th birthday and he thought it was very safe to put a January birthstone in for the baby...then I made him do some sweating in December!)

here are a few photos that we had taken just before Christmas

I'm going to add a little-shout out to my photographer here....we were really happy with our pics and his price is very reasonable because he comes to you to take the pictures, and you OWN your pictures after (so no worrying about choosing which ones you want, how many to print, etc). http://www.chrisstutzcustomphoto.com/
