I go to get Sam this morning ... this is what I find


Good Morning Mom! I am ready to get out :)

Oh ya, and I can balance with one hand too!

needless to say, the bumper pads are now off the crib! I think they only lasted about 2 weeks ... I had put them on because he kept getting his hands & feet stuck and would cry till we came and rescued him. I knew I would have to take them off once he started standing ... what I did not know is that he would figure out how to stand up so quickly! smart little bugger :)

Home!

we are home from our 10 day BC excersion. We had the best weather and a great trip. Hard to believe it is over. But it felt sooo good to come home - the trip was long enough that I sure appreciated being home!

Coming Home!

we are leaving Vancouver and on our way home today ... no pics to post though because my dumb camera broke!!! BOO!

Hiking Whistler & Blackcomb Mountains

on Sunday we did the "peak to peak" tour of Whistler & Blackcomb mountains. We took the gondola up Whistler mountain, hiked around for a bit, had lunch, took the gondola from the top of Whistler mountain to the top of Blackcomb mountain, hiked around some more (not too much on Blackcomb because at this point it's getting to be a long day), and took the chair lift down. it was smokin' hot (34C) so it was good that we were atop the mountain most of the day as it was slightly cooler up there. When we got to the bottom, we had ice cream and cooled off in the water misters ... which as you will see, Sam was NOT a fan!



The last two days dad has been biking so Sam & mom have been visiting the lake & the pool to keep cool....Sam loves the lake because he loves the sand & the grass. It has been an awesome trip...a bit hot (30's every day) but we are not complaining!! Tomorrow we leave Whistler to Vancouver for a couple of days and then on the way home. I don't know if any of our other hotels have free wi-fi so there may be no more updates until next week.

Day at the Lake

Saturday we went to the lake...Sam's first time in the sand!

But then he had fun sitting in the water & playing with the sand. mom was very busy making sure the sand stayed away from the mouth

One big diaper!! those pampers can hold alot apparently.

Balancing himself on the grass .... is he going to crawl or walk first ?! he's been skipping the knees and trying to get up on his feet.

Arrived in Whistler

Day 2: drove from Kamloops to Whistler. Arrived in Whistler & eating lunch (Sam eating a napkin, very nutritious!)

The weather is GORGEOUS here! high 20's to low 30's. We have had such a bad summer in Calgary that this is such a nice treat. We are loving Whistler & soaking in the sun.

Sam the goofball

We are off on holidays for 10 days ... driving to Whistler! We bought Sam a new car seat so hopefully he likes it because he has a LONG time to be in it. :)

I am hoping that I can update the blog while we are gone, but I will leave you with my favorite video of Sam. (note: if you click on it twice, it will take you to the video on you tube where you can view it a bit larger)

Dinner will never be quiet in our house again...

....or so I thought. Unfortunately he has cut his top two teeth this week & been hurting (poor guy!) so now all he eats is furniture...(for real, he cut the threads on this stool with his teeth and refuses to eat food)

I'm not sure if I'm proud or mortified ... I had to go to the bathroom so I left Sam in his bumbo on the floor (thank goodness it has been relegated to the floor!) and I came out and found this. I have no idea how he managed it without making a peep but he did. oh boy oh boy

Montreal

We are home from Montreal! Sam was an awesome traveller - he did great on the plane and somehow managed to get himself on Montreal time the first day we got there. We thought we would just do everything 2 hours later than we do it at home, but nope...by 9pm he was ready for bed and by 6am he was up and ready to roar! :)


We had a great time visiting the city although it is NOT a stroller friendly city! but we got the biceps firmed up with all the carrying the stroller up and down the metro stairs and pushing it on the old cobblestone roads.


The wedding was really nice - we got to meet up with some friends we haven't seen in 3 years. And of course Sam was the star of the show...he was such a charmer
