Little Swimmer!

snow on the ground May 30th, so we finally took Sam to the pool today. We went to a warm (33.4C was the temp today) salt water pool and he loved it! There were lots of kids so it was quite loud and he was very alert and watching carefully, but enjoyed floating (with our assistance of course!) and splashing. We kinda figured he would like it because he likes the bath so much...going to have to start swimming lessons soon!

End of May: 4 months old

it's been a busy week so I haven't had time to update the blog. We went to Medicine Hat for the long weekend, then it took Sam a day to adjust back to home. Wednesday he had vaccinations and was not too thrilled needless to say. He had to get 3 needles: after he got the first needle, he cried and then we flipped him around to do the next 2 needles in the other leg - he just GLARED at the nurse ... if looks could kill, she would have been gone!

and my little guy is just like dad: tall & skinny. at 4 months he weighed in at 13lbs, 5oz and 24 inches long. only 3 feet to go to be as tall as mom :)

Sam & his first encounter with the police! but with that innocent look, he got off with a warning

Sam & Grandpa

such a handsome little man:

Sam loved Uncle Devin...every time Devin held him, he was full of smiles & laughs

And look who is starting to sit up on his own! (when you can get him to sit - this kid MUCH prefers to stand...we usually have to trick him into bending his legs & sitting)
Sitting & posing for the papparazzi:
Why are all these people looking at me dad?! I'm just sitting...

Football

Hi Grandpa! this one is for you...

We play flag football on Mondays and if it is nice out, Sam comes with us to the games. So I figured I better dress him appropriately on Monday. We went out to eat before the game and Rider fans were coming up to our table commenting on his outfit! He had fun at the game with our team and all that fresh air wore him out: he slept 9 hours Mon night!

What a gorgeous weekend

the weather was so fantastic this weekend, we spent most of our time outdoors.

Sam sitting in the grass on Sat night...falling over though, he doesn't quite sit on his own yet. Dad taught him to pull out the grass and he sure had fun doing that - good thing we don't have a garden!

Full of laughs!

Sunday we went to the zoo with dad. We decided to take him out of his stroller so he could stretch and look around a little more. He was soooo fascinated with these fish ... it was neat to watch his eyes too, he was just following the fish so intently!

And another busy week for us with more gorgeous weather!! hope everyone has a fantastic week.

Sam is a Canadian/Canadienne

Sam got his passport...he is officially a Canadian! :)
We have no travel plans, but given the passport rules, we just seized the moment when we could take a good photo (child must be sitting, eyes open, mouth closed - how do you tell a baby to do that??! luckily I was going into Superstore one day and noticed he had just woken up so I quickly ran to the photo center and got his pic)

and this little Canadian had a busy week:

Wednesday we went to the zoo

Thursday just chillin and talking away to mom

Friday hanging outside - trying to drag mom to the park! please mom, pretty please...look how cute I am! :)

1st Mothers Day!

I had a wonderful 1st mother's day - my boys were so good to me, I am the luckiest mom in the world! :)

Sam started with the perfect present - SLEEP! He slept 9 hours on Friday night & 7.5 hours on Saturday night with a 3 hour nap on Sunday morning. Once he woke up at 10, the boys made me breakfast (not in bed, crumbs in bed would mean a load of laundry for mom!) - it was sooo yummy. We had Panetonne bread pudding, fresh fruit, whip cream, bacon & coffee. Then after breakfast, I opened my present which was painting supplies to paint Sam's hands & feet on canvas. We made a HUGE mess but had tons of fun and I have a great keepsake now. After the painting party, we all cleaned up and had a couple lazy hours and then went to my aunt & uncles for turkey dinner. Turkey is my favorite and it did not dissapoint, it was delish! When we got home, we skyped Stuart's parents and then we had a little play time and Sam was in his crib at 9:30.

Yummy breakfast!

My present...a painting party. We got paint everywhere!! good thing it was water soluable

oh ya, and good thing it was non-toxic...even had a blue tongue!

Mom & Sam & the finished product - turned out fantastic and was fun to make too

All good things must come to an end...bath time!

Dad...seriously?! (I had to throw this one in, it was too cute!)

only a baby could make this cute...

Sam likes to hang out with me in the kitchen, and this morning I looked over and was greeted with a very content child. :) He threw up everywhere, but is he concerned? nope! content as could be and just studying that toy to figure out how he can get it. I laughed so hard. then cleaned up...
