bumbo chair!

I bought my first item off Kijiji...a bumbo chair for Sam (and it's in great shape and was 50% off what I would have paid new). I love it and am convincing Sam that he will love it too! I foresee it getting alot of use since we like to cart him around everywhere and he likes be in the same room visiting with us.

At first when we put him in it, he was looking at us with a sense of panic...you could read the "help me" in his eyes. But then we were able to convince him that it was fun to be a big boy and ever since he has been good when we put him in it.

Easter with Grandma

we had a most delicious dinner tonight at my parents' - turkey: my favorite!! Sam was his usual charming self and chatted and smiled away all night (with a momentary nap and a momentary fuss)

2 months old!

Sam is 2 months old today! It's hard to believe he's growing up so fast. He LOVES to talk and sing so he's lots of fun to play with...but he's still not too keen on sleeping for long periods - just way too much in the world to see and do! :)

He had his 2 month checkup today - all is well and he is still in the 50th percentile. he now weighs 11lb 8oz and is 22" tall. what a big boy!

But Sam's birthday ended up taking second priority today (I KNOW...HOW could Sam ever be 2nd??). Stuart's new bike finally came in so we went and picked it up and dad is now incognito! It was well worth the wait. Actually, I'm not sure who was more excited - Stuart or the guys in the bike shop. They were all oogling over the bike.

I want to try this bike and see what all the hype is about - oops, can't quite reach the handlebars though :(

First Chew Toy

I bought Sam his first chew toy today...he's been drooling and gnawing on everything so we wanted to see how he would like a toy to chew on - it was a big hit. (but aaaaaaiiiiiiiiieeee...teething?? it's too soon! my baby is turning to a boy!)

Sam goes for a jog

we took Sam for a jog today...11 minutes to the ice cream store (took the LONG way) and 3 minutes home. That was long enough to at least work off the ice cream!

Sam was happy - sound asleep the whole time, mouth open and all!

yesterday I took him to my massage...he always sleeps between 1-2 and he likes his stroller. I was worried when I got there and his eyes were wide open. Sure enough: no sleep for Sam and he did not want to be in his stroller! it was a modified massage in the end, and Sam will be staying with grandpa next time mommy goes to get pampered!

This morning he had a major poop explosion (seriously, I have never seen so much poop, it filled his diaper and poured out and filled his shirt) so we had an emergency bath and load of laundry in. All before I even got my coffee!! The funny thing was that he was pretty happy about it all. See...he's a little monkey! (cute monkey though)

our new development yesterday was Sam laughing! when I was playing with him in the morning, I thought he laughed and then thought "no...you are probably just reading into his noises." But last night when Stuart was playing with him, he laughed again. Soooo precious! I must say, so far week 7 is my favorite :) (I think it's going to be that way every week as he just gets cuter and cuter)

Yesterday Sam went to his first condo meeting! he had lots of input of course. :)

Today the forecast is for +17 so we will be outside as much as possible! Mom has a massage and it's about 45 minutes away so we're going to walk there. Today is a day that mom is VERY happy she is not working. :)

A day at grandma's

Sam is getting to be such a big boy. He is in his 6 week growth spurt and eating and eating and eating.... .... and eating .... oh ya, and once in a while he sleeps too!

My mom is off work this week so we went over this afternoon. Sam loves hanging out with grandma & grandpa, but they wore him out and he decided to sleep off his growth spurt. I'm just hoping that he is worn out enough to sleep tonight! (ya right)

Sam is focusing now and has discovered the fish on his swing - I think I found a new babysitter :)

6 weeks old

6 weeks?! on one hand, it feels like "ONLY 6 weeks?!" and on the other hand it feels like "WOW, 6 weeks ALREADY?!"

look how big he is getting!! It is so true that they grow up too fast.

Four Generations

Sam goes to basketball!

Sam went to dad's basketball game on Monday night. He was a monster most of Monday though and having a major fussy spell before we left the house, so when he fell asleep in the car seat we were so grateful that we left him there for the whole game!

Sam's baby shower

Sam had his baby shower on Sunday. We got so much stuff - he will be a very well dressed baby now!! It was a really fun afternoon - everyone spoiled us so much and it was fun to share Sam. Sam LOVED all the attention too, what an attention hog! And my friend Sara showed up with her 3 girls - what a special treat, it was so great to see them!! Thanks Sara & Anna for coming and giving up your afternoon nap! (as a new mom, I do appreciate what that means, haha)

Grandma & Sam

I swear someone gave Sam cake and coffee at the party. He was alert most of the day and didn't have his lunch nap. That night, his eyes were so wide open and he had so much energy - but unfortunately it was because he was so overtired! We have never seen him like that, it was kinda funny (unless you were the one that had to put him to bed, haha).
