Friday Adventures with Mom

it was one of Mom's Fridays off today and Sam & I were determined to go on an adventure!! I was planning on going to the zoo, but when I checked the weather it was -32 with the windchill and that's just too cold so we had to change plans. Next plan was to go to the play area at the mall, but when we got to the mall at 1pm there was a 3 hour waiting list to get in. SO....I decided to take him to Toys R Us to explore and he had a BLAST! he was laughing and talking and walking everywhere looking at all the different toys. Such a good age because he's not old enough to want me to buy the toys! :) hehe.

In the morning, watching Waybaloo while eating toast

At Toys R Us. Look at all the bunnies to choose from!

and now the bears....

dancing around with the corn popper. He loved this thing but couldn't really figure out how to push it, so he would just pick it up and shake it.

And then on to the exercausers ...

And that was our fun friday adventure and it was time to go home for a nice long nap (for Sam...mom made supper) :)

Smarter than me

well, after my post about how I had to make all these valentines for Sam to take to daycare, I got ripped off!!! Apparently the other parents were smarter than me and knew it was dumb to take valentines for 12-18 month olds. So in return for all our cookie making & packaging, Sam only got 2 valentines with a box of raisins and 2 hershey's chocolates!

Happy Valentine's Day!

last week Stuart was picking up Sam from daycare for most of the week ... but on Thursday, I went to pick him up and there is a piece of paper in his cubby and it says "Infant 4 Valentine's List". So I asked the caregiver what the list was for and she told me it was to bring valentine's gifts for the kids in the room - maybe a chocolate or something. Seriously?? A chocolate for a 12 month old?! but OK, if everyone is bringing something, I guess we have to too. So I was driving home and I thought "you know, that's kind of annoying - it's Thursday and Valentine's is Monday, they could have given us more notice than that". I get home and I'm telling Stuart this story.
S: "Oh yes, that paper has been in his cubby all week - I didn't know what it was for"
T: "HON! Anything in the cubby is supposed to come home"
S: "well, it didn't say anything other than some names"
T: "well, maybe you could ask them if you're not sure what it's for!"

So, today we made sugar cookies & wrapped them up. Dad did make up for not bringing home the paper by driving me all over to get supplies and then helping assemble the bags. And of course, Sam enjoyed the cookie making process & all the benefits kids get from baking with their moms.

licking the spoon

look who found the sugar container when mom wasn't paying attention

testing the finished product - we're still not sure how the cookies are since all he did was lick the icing off

If the face is any indication, thumbs up!

finished product....Happy Valentines from Samuel Main
